Anonymous is the name of the FREE youth music and culture festival that has been running in Dorchester in Dorset since 2009. So far there have been 8 events. The festival is held during the day and into the evening at Maumbury Rings which is an outdoor Roman amphitheatre and a fabulous venue for community events. Not only is entry completely FREE but the activities (except a small charge for creating a street art picture) are all completely FREE as well! A great day out!
Open Mic Cafe
The Open Mic cafe is a great chill out space where you can go to eat your lunch or just lounge about and listen to some great live acoustic acts. It is sponsored by the Keep Love Sweet campaign so it is also a great place for young people to go to get advice on love, sex and relationships.
The free inflatable Bungee Run is always a popular attraction. How fast can you run, how far can you get before being 'poinged' back to where you began, guarenteed to make you smile!
Have a go graffiti art workshop with talented local artist Pete Sheridan. Learn some specialist techniques and make a fantastic piece of graffiti art that you can take home too!
Slacklining is a practice in balance that typically uses nylon or polyester webbing tensioned between two anchor points. It is a bit different from tightrope walking in that the line is not held rigidly taut but is instead stretchy and bouncy like a long and narrow trampoline.
At Anonymous we are happy to involve the Maverick Slackline team who will get you started or help you advance your skills. They will also be demonstrating the incredible slacklining skills that make them one of the most exciting teams in the UK today.
Art and craft workshops
At Anonymous we think it is really important to get crafty so we always like to offer a couple of art based workshops for you to chill out at and exercise your creative talents.
Anonymous is held inside an ancient Roman amphitheater which means it is surrounded by a big hill. This hill is perfect for covering in carpet and sliding down and causing much hilarity. I am sure Caesar himself would have approved!
